Have you ever wanted to buy a pasture...

We have pasture in a bag!!

Nearly 20 years ago, a plant in the United States was established to grow Chaffhaye Testimonaland package dust free, premium grade forage that was named Chaffhaye Pasture in a Bag. Based on extensive consultation with the USDA, the developers of Chaffhaye located its pastures near the remote high desert town of Dell City, Texas. With its ideal climate, abundance of water, and fertile soil, it turned out to be one of the premier growing regions for forage in all of America. Aside from an occasional herd of antelope that graze at the pasture's edge, the fields are virtually pest free as a ‘lush oasis’ amid an arid desert.

Today, Chaffhaye Inc. has become the leading producer of premium bagged forage in the U.S. The goal is to cultivate and produce the finest all natural forage product on the market, elevating the performance and well being of horses, ruminants, and other grazers. Feel free to read through some of the customer testimonials that show the true value of Southern California Hay in a Bag's Chaffhaye quality forages all natural nutritional products. Chaffhaye is available to you in Southern California through our retail outlets, and this website, your Southern California Distributor Laurie McNally.

Chaffhaye SwatherChaffhaye is committed to crafting the most premium quality forage product on the market, making it ideal for all classes of horse, deer, goat, llama and other grazers. Chaffhaye manages every aspect of  cultivation, harvest, and packaging to achieve exceptional forage quality.

One of the biggest challenges facing today's livestock owners is identifying, sourcing and feeding quality forage on a consistent basis. Many animal owners struggle to find quality forage that can keep the digestive systems of their livestock properly functioning and meet a large percentage of the animal's daily nutrient requirements at the lowest cost. With fewer open spaces for grazing, finding good quality and consistently nutritious forage has never been more difficult. Chaffhaye's Pasture in a Bag quality forage can be a 100% hay replacement, and is designed to alleviate problems generally associated with feeding dry forages.

Chaffhaye Chopper

Chaffhaye is made with alfalfa or grass that is carefully selected and harvested at peak leafiness to maximize nutrients, palatability and digestibility. Within hours of harvest, while still fresh, the Chaffhaye alfalfa is chopped, lightly misted with molasses and compressed into air-tight bags. The specially designed bag locks in the freshness and initiates nature's own fermentation process. The Chaffhaye bag acts as a natural fermentation vat, similar to the digestive process that occurs in the digestive tract of horses and livestock. The process converts raw alfalfa into a "pre-digested" feed with live yeast and beneficial enzymes not normally
found in dry hay or pellets. Chaffhaye's abundant levels of beneficial bacteria unlock the nutrition in the forage by breaking it down into more readily digestible units. The entire process facilitates greater digestion in the foregut of the animal where the bulk of proteins, fats, starches, vitamins and minerals are absorbed. By improving the digestion in the foregut, and balancing the feed load across the entire digestive tract, the animal is able to absorb more energy, vitamins and minerals from Chaffhaye.

Most animal feeds go through a drying process that removes most of the naturally occurring plant juices from the forage. This essentially drains life from the feed. Chaffhaye is processed to retain its natural plant juices, preserving the natural probiotics of the feed. By retaining its plant juices, Chaffhaye becomes the closest product you can buy to natural pasture. Hence, it is called "Premium Pasture-in-a-Bag".
