Chaffhaye Grass
Chaffhaye Grass is premium Bermuda Grass that is harvested at optimal plant maturity to maximize nutrients and palatability. Hay in a Bag, while still fresh, the crop is chopped into smaller ”chaff”, lightly misted with molasses, then individually packed into air-tight packages to lock in freshness. A natural curing process transforms the raw grass into a super digestible Pasture in a Bag forage product. It enriches the forage with yeast, enzymes and beneficial microflora that aid digestion as well as its assimilation (absorption) of its nutrients by the animal. Chaffhaye Grass is soft, easy to chew, and free of dust and mold.

Purpose of Feed
Chaffhaye addresses the forage requirement of the herbivore diet. Therefore, use Chaffhaye Grass as a 100% replacement for grass-based hay, pellets and cubes.

Feeding Directions
Feed 2.0 pounds of Chaffhaye Grass daily for every hundred (100) pounds of animal body weight. For smaller grazers and ruminants, such as foals, ponies, goats, sheep and deer, feed 3 to 3.5 pounds of Chaffhaye Grass daily for every hundred (100) pounds of animal body weight. Feed at regular times - at least twice daily - according to the recommended amount. After observing the animal for a period of time, you may want to increase or decrease by up to 10% to obtain desired overall body condition and appearance. Chaffhaye Grass and Chaffhaye Alfalfa can be blended to achieve your desired level of protein and fiber.

Total Digestible Nutrition
The University of Nebraska evaluates forage, among many factors, using Total Digestible Nutrition (TDN). TDN estimates the percentage of feed that is digestible by the animal. Based on independent laboratory analysis, the TDN of Chaffhaye Grass is close to 60%, or nearly 20 percentage points higher than good quality hay.

The Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) is used by nutritional laboratories to estimate the amount of energy content in forages. As the plant matures, the NDF contents increase; however, as the value of NDF increases, the lower the energy content of the grass. This is because the fibrous stem portions of the plant contain the least digestible portions of the plant; whereas, the non-fiber portions of the grass contain is more than 95% digestible. Chaffhaye Grass has a maximum NDF of 66% (on a dry matter basis), a rating that is considered excellent for grass-based forage. To ensure maximum digestibility, palatability and nutritive value, we harvest our grass pastures frequently every 3 to 4 weeks, ensuring the highest intake of forage by your animal.

Health and Physiology
Unique biological aspects of Chaffhaye Grass exert health and physiological benefits beyond the basic nutrition of the forage itself. Chaffhaye undergoes an all-natural fermentation process in the package that enlivens it with yeast, enzymes and beneficial microflora. Chaffhaye’s beneficial microflora, or fiber-digesting bacteria, closely resemble those found in the early fiber-digestion process of horses and other livestock. In essence, Chaffhaye jump starts the digestive process. Once Chaffhaye is consumed, more of its nutrients can be assimilated (absorbed) in the body, leading to greater nutritional benefit. As one indicator of increased nutrient absorption from the forage, you will notice a marked reduction in animal manure.
